I am currently working as a Sales Associate at my favorite store, Urban Outfitters. It is located at the Keystone at the Crossing Fashion Mall on the Northside of Indianapolis. Two years ago the store opened and I had the opportunity to be apart of the team that helped to open that store, although I had to leave shortly after that to pursue a position in ministry. Upon return to Indy, I was given the opportunity to work with a great team of people at Urban Outfitters once again. Although some of the work may seem repetitive, I learn something every time I go into work. Whether it be a meaningful conversation with someone who needs it or helping a customer find that perfect gift for a loved one. It is the smile of satisfaction that really helps motivate me to continue to strive to get better.
As most retail jobs go it can be hard to be noticed as an individual with how fast paced the work is, pushing as much inventory as we do, and hiring as many associates as we have, it can be easy to fall through the cracks. It can even feel as though your work is forgotten, but that is not how I feel at our store. The managerial staff always makes a point to motivate, encourage, and most of all genuinely appreciate all of the hard work that each of us puts in, no matter how small it may seem.
Last night, I spent the evening vacuuming and cleaning the store because it is important to us to have a store that each customer loves coming back to and for many people this task can seem meaningless or unimportant, but working at Urban Outfitters has allowed me to truly appreciate each role that a team member plays. I do not have to go down the line, but if each associate/team leader/manager did not do their job, no matter how small it may seem, then our store would not be as successful as it has been over the past two years. It is because of the continue encouragement and motivation from the Team Leaders and Managers that really reminds me the important role that I play on the Urban Outfitters team. This type of leadership is worth following and this is the type of team that I am happy to be a part of.

The Duck Commander Family - Book Review...
Finally back to reading and writing some book reviews on a blog that has been silent for a little while. I am sure most of you have fallen into the craze that is Duck Dynasty. What is not to love, a great family of American people with great beards and even better hearts. Still unsure how women like that would fall for bearded country folk like the Robertson men. For all of you Parks and Rec fans, it brings to light the same confusion that takes place when you think of Jerry & Gale Gergich. Anyway, this post is specifically about the Duck Commander Family book that was released a couple of years ago, authored by Wille & Korie Robertson.
It is an interesting read that brings you into the lives of the entire Robertson family before they were apart of the reality show Duck Dynasty. Thus giving the reader some insight into what makes their family and business work the way it does. One of the most unique parts of the book is each chapter is named after a famous Robertson family recipe, which at the end of each chapter is shared with the reader. But what I appreciated most from this book was the brutal honesty that can be found within the pages. They were very truthful in the words that they shared about where their family came from whether it been good or bad. All the words were shared as honestly as possible and in a world filled with "reality" tv, this is something to be appreciated.
The book brings to light some of the marital/family issues that took place among Phil & Kay, the tough starts for Willie & Korie, as well as a birth of the Duck Commander franchise. Overall it reminds the reader of how family always comes first. You may love what you do, but if you are not able to come home at 5pm with a family who loves you know matter what your first quarter numbers were, then it is not worth it. This book brings back the importance of family before business, something that the working american must be reminded of on a daily basis.

Boy Meets World...
For my birthday I had the idea to go back to my childhood and purchase a great set of DVDs from the 90s. The TV show being one that I spent much of my time enjoying after school with a snack (the good old days), Boy Meets World. If you grew up in the mid to late 90s you knew what Boy Meets World was and it had the same premise of most of those after school family drama/comedies. Great family, goofy brother, & funny teacher that seem to always get in trouble, but most of all have a story to tell in a quick 30 minutes. Watching all of the seasons in a row makes me realize the cheesy nature of the show, but it also reminds me of the life lessons that I learned while I was young. Even more it reminds me of the lessons that I need to learn now.

I have been blessed for the past 5 years to have known an amazing woman, introduced to her in October 2008. We were two different people back then, young and stupid, but little did I know that she would be the person I would have the honor of spending the rest of my life with her. A young 19 year old kid who was blessed with an 18 year old girl who was loving enough to give me a chance. 5 years later our love continues to grow daily, our family continues to grow, but most of all we continue to understand and value the fact that our love is what is most important.
A great friend of mine reminds me that even if everything in your life seems to be in shambles, you must understand that love is the thing that reigns true through all things. It reigns true because it was love that God ordained from the beginning. The love that he made an example of when he sacrificed his son for the entire world. This is the example that we have the opportunity to follow and I am so blessed to have a wife to share this type of love with. Life may be stressful, life may be hard, but love is all i need.

InstaUpdate...
Now that Instagram is popular this is not as exciting to do, but I still enjoy it. What makes this so great is that I can look back on all the amazing moments that I have had, most of which with my beautiful wife and puppy :) I love sharing pictures from one of my favorite apps and let me know if you enjoy any of them.

24 & Counting...
My birthday on October 9th was a great one. I turned 24 and began to realize that I am almost a quarter of a century old, WOW. I am beginning to understand that I will be in my mid-twenties soon and those people that seem too old to relate to us are now going to be us.
Anyway, my birthday was not all depressing as I grow old :), but my wife & family gave me some amazing gifts. They are as follows:

So Many Books...
If you know me at all, you know how much I love to read. There is nothing like grabbing your favorite coffee and your favorite book (not to mention highlighter) and studying. I have spent much of my summer doing just that as I have slowly finishing the books I have in my library in the hopes that in the next couple of years I will have all of my books read. Here is a list of some recommended reading I would suggest if you are looking for something to get you through until the school year or to lead you into the great winter months.

Let Go & Let God...
I had the honor and privilege of taking 11 High School students & 5 adults to CIY Move in Holland, MI this past week. For those of you who don't know, Move is a Nationwide HS week of worship that takes place at numerous locations throughout the summer months. It has been going on for many years now and more specifically I have been going to CIY Move since the summer of 2005 (5 Times as a student, 3 times as a leader, missing 2011 & 2012). This week of worship, intentional growth, and fellowship was one of the most formidable weeks of my teenage years, therefore I jumped at the possibility of leading a group of students from the Uprising.
After lack of interest forced us to lower our numbers, I was discouraged wonder whether it was even worth it for us to go on the trip all together. But the second I stepped onto the campus, boy was I wrong. God began working in my heart, our adults' hearts, and in the hearts of our students immediatly. Little did we know that we would have the opportunity by the end of the week to baptize 5 students, 2 students rededicate their lives, and 6 students commit to full-time vocational ministry. Here is just a glimpse of the week that changed the Uprising forever.

Wet Feet...
If you haven't already, I strongly urge you to purchase the book Circle Maker by Mark Batterson. It is a great story about a faith journey for National Community Church. Most of all it teaches us as pastor to reinvent the way that we pray and the way that we interact with our Lord. But what I have found most recently is the way that I pray is being forever changed. The way I think about my relationship with God is coming alive through the way that I communicate with him.
I just recently started the Draw the Circle 40 Day Prayer Challenge that is laid out in the book and the companion. Reading today I found a text that was so empowering. That is the story of the Israelities crossing the Jordan River.
It is explained that the Israelities were making along journey to the promise land and they were on the cusp of finally making it there and the only thing that stood in their way was the mighty Jordan River during flood season. This was the most intimidating thing that they faced since the parting of the Red Sea. Yet another daunting task that they had to face in order to achieve what God called them to. But what is interesting about this story is that God called the Israelities to take the first step. He promised them that when they go their feet wet, the River would be stopped and they would walk across on dry ground. Therefore they had a decision to make, would they wait for God to make something happen before or would they be willing to get their feet wet and make the first move.
This is the issue that rescinates so much with my life because so much of the time what God is calling me to is so close, but I spend my life waiting for God to make the first move, when in fact God is waiting on me to get my feet wet. I don't know how close I have been to the dreams God has ordained me for and I am waiting for him to move. But this text suggests something so different. That is the idea that sometimes, God is waiting for us to step out in faith and say "I know it doesn't look like it now, but if I get my feet wet and step into the raging Jordan, then you will complete your side of the bargain and allow us to walk on dry ground." How many times are we waiting for God's will to be revealed in our lives when in fact God is waiting for us to step out in faith, so that he could then reveal his will in us?
What things are holding you back from truly stepping into the river and saying God I am ready and willing for you to part it. So much of the time we spend our time so close to our dreams when in fact they are there for the taking if we are willing to make the first move.
God is saying it is time for us to move, are you willing to take the first step and truly get your feet WET.

Thursdays 9/8c...
Each generation has a TV Show that encapsulates the said generation, there was I Love Lucy, Happy Days, Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends, & most recently The Office. A show beginning on the BBC network made it's way to American almost 10 years ago and wasn't an instant hit, but through its' longevity, loyal fans, and comedic humor, it has become one of the most beloved shows of our generation.
If you haven't already guested, my wife and I are huge fans of the office and were heartbroken when it was revealed last summer that this would indeed be the last season. I fell in love with the show during the airing of its' second season while I was in High School. Quickly renting the first two seasons, only to get hooked very soon after that. I would then jump into live episodes in season 3 only to have met my future wife mid way through season 4. I knew that if this show had such a huge impact on me, I knew it would have an impact on Jenny. We spent the spring break of 2010 catching all the way up to the current season and she was hooked. We then, looked forward to every September when the previous season's DVDs would be released shortly followed by the premiere of the current season.
My wife and I grew alongside the relationships of Jim & Pam, Dwight & Angela, & eventually Michael & Holly. By the middle of the series aching for each of the characters as if they were a part of our lives and feeling like as we struggled with heartache we could always throw in those DVDs and see that their are others in this world that share in it. As the years past, my wife and I created an even greater tradition that on every Christmas Eve, we will watch each Christmas Episode of the Office (currently there are 6) as we celebrate the holiday.
As you can see, this is not just a show that airs on NBC thursdays 9/8c, but it was much more than that. It was a show that I grew up watching, it was the first show my wife and I shared together, and it was truly one of the first things we shared together. Even as we spent our 2 year relationship long distance we would still have the office. As we have purchased each season on DVD, we know that each year on Christmas we will have the office tradition to look forward to. Our Children will look forward to Christmas Eve, when they will get a glimpse of their parents past.
As the show came to a close on its' ninth and final season, we could not be more sad, but what we do know is that we owe a lot to the office and it is and always will be much more than a show for us. It is what has and will bring us together. It changed a generation and what resinates with me is that it changed OUR generation. Thank you NBC and the entire Office Cast. Could not be more grateful.

Good Friends, Making Great Music...
Over the past couple of months, My wife and I have had the privilege of helping support a couple great friends of our who are making some great music this summer/fall. Much of this connection came from our time in Cincinnati, OH over the past year and I would love to share with you some projects that you must check out if you love music.
First being a band from Northern KY/Cincinnati area called Seabird. This band has been around for a little while putting our 2 CDs up till this summer and I first got a glimpse of there music on a blog like this from a fellow Ohioan. I grabbed there first album and could not put it down. Their piano-driven sound is something that is lacking these days in music and their passion behind each note is amazing. Not to mention they could not be nicer guys. I have had the privilege of getting to know Aaron and he could not be a greater guy to enjoy a cup of coffee with. Therefore, when we found out they were putting on a kickstarter campaign to fund their third album, we had to be apart of it. Their protect would eventually become fully funded and they will be releasing their third indie record titled Troubled Days this summer. Next, is the band Mike Mains and the Branches who are from the great state of Michigan (which my wife and I currently call home) and I first ran into them at the music festival Ichthus in Kentucky (after the recommendation from Seabird). I love their hard sound both mixed with great musical riffs and dynamic lyrics. I instantly fell in love grabbed their album, an awesome tank top from their booth, and my wife and I were completely hooked. We have been following the band ever since and after loving their first album Home, we were so pumped to find out they would be putting out their first indie album through the popular site pledgemusic.com. We were so excited to be a pledger for the campaign and even more excited when their project was fully funded. No longer would we have to wait for their highly anticipated indie project entitled Calm Down, Everything is Fine. It will be available very soon and if you would like to get updates follow them on Instagram, Twitter, & Facebook. They are all great people and their live show is worth whatever drive you need to make.
Lastly, I would like to give props to my man Austin Livingood, who just recently announced his solo release of a 3 EP set entitled Weightless Anchor. I first ran into Austin when he was the guitarist for a small band called Good Morning Gladys (still have a shirt from their benefit show). He would then move on to be involved in a few other bands, until ultimately being apart of the group Belle Histoire which has had major success as of recently (just released a great CD entitled Dreamers). But most recently he has written some solo work and will be releasing a three part EP entitled Weightless Anchor , this first part titled "By Plane" is set to release August 6th. Austin is truly one of the most genuine, compassionate, and kind-hearted people you will meet in the music business. I could not be happier to call him a friend and I am so excited to be apart of his future in music by purchasing his material and promoting his stuff. These are just a couple of great bands that are releasing some amazing music this year and I am so excited to be part of it. I ask that whenever you stumble upon some great bands that are not only putting out great music, but doing it the right way, that you will look for every way possible to support them. I instantly fell in love grabbed their album, an awesome tank top from their booth, and my wife and I were completely hooked. We have been following the band ever since and after loving their first album Home, we were so pumped to find out they would be putting out their first indie album through the popular site pledgemusic.com. We were so excited to be a pledger for the campaign and even more excited when their project was fully funded. No longer would we have to wait for their highly anticipated indie project entitled Calm Down, Everything is Fine. It will be available very soon and if you would like to get updates follow them on Instagram, Twitter, & Facebook. They are all great people and their live show is worth whatever drive you need to make.
Lastly, I would like to give props to my man Austin Livingood, who just recently announced his solo release of a 3 EP set entitled Weightless Anchor. I first ran into Austin when he was the guitarist for a small band called Good Morning Gladys (still have a shirt from their benefit show). He would then move on to be involved in a few other bands, until ultimately being apart of the group Belle Histoire which has had major success as of recently (just released a great CD entitled Dreamers). But most recently he has written some solo work and will be releasing a three part EP entitled Weightless Anchor , this first part titled "By Plane" is set to release August 6th. Austin is truly one of the most genuine, compassionate, and kind-hearted people you will meet in the music business. I could not be happier to call him a friend and I am so excited to be apart of his future in music by purchasing his material and promoting his stuff. These are just a couple of great bands that are releasing some amazing music this year and I am so excited to be part of it. I ask that whenever you stumble upon some great bands that are not only putting out great music, but doing it the right way, that you will look for every way possible to support them. My Little Brother...
Last week my wife and I had the privilege of being apart of my little brother Zachary's High School Graduation. I guess what seems to baffle me most is the fact that he is old enough to graduate High School. To me my little brother will always be just that, my little brother. The person I talk with, the person who is my best friend, the person who was the best man at my wedding, and the person I will care for till the end of my days. We have spent so much time together over the years and despite the fact that we are 5 years apart, we have always had a bond like no other. A bond that can only be understand if you have a brother or sister of your own.
But of course, my brother is no longer little. He is actually a couple inches taller than me and I am pretty sure he can now beat me at basketball. He has a girlfriend, Lindsey Peoples, of 10 month who is a great addition to our family, he as agreed to pursue of life of ministry at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN, and he could not be more wacky (check out his posts on vine). But despite all of that, what I love most about my brother is he has never been afraid to be himself. He would never change his character or personality for anyone and if you didn't like it, well then tough luck. I admire that in him and strive to be more like that in my life. I strive to stick to my convictions and character even when it is not the popular thing to do. I strive to be the person God has created me to be, preach the word God has created me to preach, and lead my family the way God has called me to lead. He may not know it, but I learn that from him and I look up to him everyday of my life. I admire is outlook on life, I admire his courage, and I most of all admire his heart for relationships.
Zachy, I am so excited for you and your future in ministry and in life. I want you to know that I have and always will look up to you and most of all, no matter what, I am here for you. You and Lindsay will always have a home at the Tod household (Alec & Jenny Edition) and we will care for you no matter what. Thank you for your fortitude, your leadership, and your example. I am so excited to be able to say I will have a true brother in ministry and I am here for you as you begin your journey. I love you.

Can't stop singing...
As a celebration for the fact that the weather is nice and I just got my driver's side window fixed (now It rolls down again), I wanted to put together a list of songs that I just cannot stop singing. Some of them are really embarrassing, but that is my life. Some of them are from some great friends of mine and some of them are from some people I wish were great friends of mine. the Presence Tour...
I had the honor of spending last weekend returning to my wife and I's first home, Cincinnati, OH, to attend the Believe Conference for Junior High students. God blessed us with 9 students that joined us for an amazing weekend of growth and fellowship.
This was not my first rodeo as this was my 8th time at Believe and 3rd in Cincinnati, so like before, the conference was top notch. High level illustrations, great worship, awesome graphics, not to mention amazing, practical speaking. But it wasn't all of this that made the biggest impact on my wife and I this past weekend. What made the biggest impact is what makes ministry life so great and that is the relationships that are formed.
If you had been following my tweets over the weekend, @normallyINDIE, it seemed as though we were running into someone left and right. And I know what you are thinking, "what else is new? Any pastor runs into tons of people he knows at christian conventions?" But this time was different. I feel God placed these people in our path this past weekend to remind us the value of relationships as well as the value the people have in our lives. The weekend was like an impromptu family reunion. My wife and I got to see one of our best friends Sarah Brown, who was integral in us getting together, my brother & his awesome girlfriend Lindsay, Ash, J-Trav, Reverend Katie Brown, Papa Brown, Court, Post, not to mention the GUMC crew and the giant crew from Eastview (just so happens to be my home church). All of these people have had such a huge impact on our lives and it was so fitting to see them in the place that Jenny and I called home at the beginning of our marriage. It was a weekend of memories that will not go forgotten and all I can do is thank Believe for making it happen.
I learned so much this past weekend and have seen a huge change of heart in our student's lives through the testimonies that were laid out by God this past weekend, but in the midst of that, what God continued to speak to me was that ministry is all about relationships. Not only ministry, but life is all about people and Jesus came to this world to save people. So often we can get focused on numbers, budgets, church sizes, logistics, when God may be screaming at us to say "time to seek after my people who are lost".
He has placed so many people in our path both to have an impact on and for them to have an impact on us. If we are willing to take to time to stop and listen. God is bringing his people to us and I am so thankful to be a small part of that.

That Time of Year...
Yes, once again it is the holiday season and if you have been paying attention, the radio stations have started to play Christmas music, the department stores have been selling their overpriced artificial trees, & black friday came and went. It is a great time of the year not only because it is an excuse to ask for things that none of us really need, but it is a great time to be with family.
This year is my first Christmas with my new family, which is made of up of my beautiful wife Jenny & our little puppy Indie. We are spending this Christmas in the great state of Michigan at our home and it is a wonderful time. There are a couple of things that really make this time of year great for us and I would like to share those with you:
Decorating the Home
Buying Christmas Sweaters
Taking Pictures together in the snow
Watching Christmas Movies (Elf, Home Alone)
Decorating Cookies
Drinking Egg Nog
Buying stocking stuffers for each other
Watching All the Office Christmas Episodes on Christmas Eve
Opening one Present on Christmas Eve (New Tradition)
Spoiling Each other with things

On my Chest...
The expression of "wearing your heart on your chest" is something I had never really thought of till this moment. I would like to think of it in a little different way. I think that God does call us to truly wear our love of Christ on our chest, but I think that God lays others things on our heart that he would like to be included when people look at us. Most recently (besides everything else I have written about tonight) God has put on my heart the idea that we are disciples of Christ and that we have a job to do. But even outside of the fact that we have a job to do, Jesus has faith that we can do this job. He merely calls us to take up our cross, deny our own selfish ambitions, and follow him. Truly do what a disciple is which is be more like Christ (our rabbi) and follow him.
God is put it on my heart so much that I did not even realize it until I entitled an entire sermon series, "Going all in" challenging our students to have Bold Faith, Bold Obedience, & Bold Sacrifice. Little did I know God was going to talk directly to me in the midst of me talking to a group of 50 students on a weekly basis. I did not realize that he would be challenging me to truly think about the decision I have made with my life and will make with the rest of my life and ask am I denying myself and follow Christ or am I letting my crosses weigh me down? How are the decision I am making leading me closer to Christ and making me more like my rabbi.
If all we are called to do in this life is to love Christ and make him known, that is what I want all of my future decisions to display. I want people to look at my heart that is surely on my sleeve and see that it is stamped by Christ. I have a tattoo on my chest that is a price tag that is stamped with the word PAID. I did not do this to look cool or get an awesome Christian tattoo, instead I did this to remind myself that no matter what I do or have done my life has been paid by the blood of Christ. In response to that, what else can I do but follow the man that saved my life as close as possible.
Following my own selfish ambitions are merely the things that led Jesus to his death on the cross, so I am going to do all I can do to throw those down, turn around, and follow my savior, my christ, my sacrificial lamb.
That is what I wear on my sleeve. I wear a heart that has a stamp of payment on it and I have decided in order to glorify the man/God that saved my life, I am going to follow him with all everything that I have.

"Greater" by Steven Furtick, Book Review
If any of you have paid attention lately to the Ministry world, you have probably heard of the Elevation Church in North Carolina (if I am not mistaken). He started that church after many years of dreaming, hoping, questioning, and trusting God. Just 6 years later he is worshipping with 10,000 believers from the area, not to mention millions around the world through their digital footprint. It is so exciting to see a guy that is committed to the call God has given him to do some amazing things including ministering to a church he attends as well as to the people that are listening, reading, and watching him speak.
A couple of years ago he released a book called, "Sun Stand Still" that challenged its' readers to believe like Joshua did when he asked the sun to literally stand still. The amazing thing in that story is that God came through, supernaturally. He challenged me to personally start challenging God to answer supernatural prayers that if they were answered could only be pointed back to him. This book changed the way I thought about the idea of dreaming, prayer, and a passionate relationship with God.
Most recently, Steven Furtick released a second book entitled "Greater", this time challenging his readers to realize that their life is and will be greater than they could ever imagine if they merely obeyed, sacrificed, and faith in the fact that God has called them to do something.
Beside the fact that his writing style makes it easy for even a new believer to get engaged, it is a book that does not leave you thinking that you have it all figured out. It does the exact opposite. As you will see in the next two blog posts, this book challenged me to rethink what I am doing in my life. It made me ask the question, "How am I leading my students that God has blessed me to minister to live a much greater life?" This book challenged me to question how I am living my life today. Am I really living the greater life God has called me to? Where will I be in 50 years and at that point will I feel that I truly capitalized on all that God has given me? Will Jesus say come join me in paradise good and faithful servant?
These are just a few of the questions that will surely come to mind as you read through this book and if you are someone who wants to take their life with God to another level, I strongly suggest getting a copy of both "Sun Stand Still" & "Greater" by Steven Furtick. Allow the writings of a great man of God change the relationship that you have with Christ.

the Uprising...
As many of you know as of September I accepted a position at Twin Oaks Christian Church in Woodhaven, Michigan to become their Student Ministries Pastor. I have been working for this church for just over a month and last night we were able to launch our brand new Student Ministry service called the Uprising.
This is going to be a church led by students for students purely to spread the gospel to all of the students that are in our Down River Area. The Uprising is dedicated to building up a group of students that will faithfully, humbly, & wholeheartedly serve the Lord.
I had the honor last night of putting on our Fall Kickoff with all the help I could get from my Adult Sponsor team. We had a wonderful night of worship, fun, fall inspired food, and relevant speaking. It was so exciting to see over 50 Middle School & High School Students there who were excited to hear what all of the Uprising was all about.
Now outside of all of the logistics and everything else, I am so excited to be serving God here at Twin Oaks. To lead a service like this is what I have been dreaming about doing since I felt the call to go into Student Ministry back in High School. I have been dreaming of the day when God will give me a chance to preach the gospel to a group of students that are anxious to hear it. It is such an amazing feeling and I am so honored to be serving him in this way.
I cannot imagine what God has in store for us at the Uprising, but I am so excited and I know he is going to do some amazing things.

Yet another year...
This Tuesday October 9th I turn another year older. I will be 23 years old (not much a milestone, but I like birthdays) and my wife loves to celebrate Birthdays as well. So much so she already gave me a couple gifts off my wish list.

That time of year...
It has just begun. The first time of the year when the layering begins. My favorite time of year is the fall. The weather changes, the leaves fall, football is in full swing, and the temperature dips below 50. The perfect time of your to throw on a sweatshirt, drink some great coffee (or hot apple cider), and enjoy the amazing season God has created for us.
My wife and I recently moved to Michigan in the Down River District of Detroit (or as I have named it the DWR). We are just beginning to get used to the place, but nothing excites me more than the fall weather which is just beginning. Just a couple of weeks ago I began to follow my favorite football teams (Florida Gators & Indianapolis Colts) and are so excited for the rest of the season to continue. But besides football season being in high gear, there is much to love about the fall.
This is the first time of the year that we are not dripping with sweat while wearing our favorite pair of jeans. It is just now getting acceptable to wear those awesome beanies that we all have been waiting months to wear (maybe that is just me), but most of all we get to hang out with friends outside around a bonfire or grill enjoying some of our favorite food and company. What could be better than spending a fall evening grilling out, listening to music, and reminiscing with old friends.
Since we are new to the place, I have some goals for the fall season that I hope I can achieve before the dreadful cold of winter hits. They are as follows (in no particular order):
Play 10 more rounds of golf (shoot below 80 again)
Play a couple games of pick up football
Watch my St. Louis Cardinals win the 2012 Fall Classic
Enjoy multiple bonfires with new friends
Train our awesome new puppy to go to the bathroom outside (not as easy as it looks)
Purchase and read Tony Larussa's new book
Road trip to Northern Michigan
Enjoy my 23rd Birthday (October 9th if you were wondering)
Begin brainstorming ideas for my first book
Watch a couple new shows on Netflix (the best thing for a TV/Movie buff)
Visit Canada for the first time
Discover some new music (that no one has ever heard of)
Go to an Apple Orchard and get some great caramel apples
Throw a Halloween Party in our new home
Begin the adventure of finding Detroit's best burger joint
Find a couple great local coffee shops (any suggestions)
Go on many a walks with my beautiful bride
These are just a couple of my many goals for the coming months as we settle into the great weather and watch as God, once again, performs one of his many miracles. Such an exciting time of the year and I am so blessed to be spending it in one of the most beautiful states in America. Wish me luck.
