The New Digs...

We are so excited because, as I said in the previous post we had the opportunity to move into an amazing new townhouse.  It is Carmel Landing Apartments off of 151st St. in Camel/Westfield, IN.  It is a 3 bedroom & 2.5 bath, by level with a patio, private back and front entrance.  A great place that Jenny and I can start a true home with a family (Alec, Jenny, & Indie of course).  We have spent the past couple of weeks decorating our place to truly make it ours, with all of it coming from the talented, artistic mind of Jenny.

We have such an amazing place and I have such an amazing wife.  She is the most talented and perfect woman in the world.  Feel free to come to our place at any time, enjoy some coffee, and the great sounds of our new record player.

Oh, How we Change...

It is interesting to look back and see how our lives have changed over the past few years.  As many of you know I have recently graduated from college, moved to a new city, and gotten married to my beautiful wife Jennifer.  With all of these great life events comes moving into a new apartment and what is most exciting is that it is our first apartment.  We have the opportunity to create, design, and modify our apartment to make it a home.  And with this we have spent a lot of time at Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, & Target.

Earlier on in my life I spent very little time at these home improvement stores and when I did I was miserable only waiting till it is time to go home.  But now I begin to smile when we drive up to these stores and it is the most exciting time for me when I am able to create something wonderful for my beautiful wife and I to use in our beautifully designed apartment.  Currently we are working a vintage coffee table made from a door used at our wedding, framing and mounting a vintage world map, hanging 9 record frames in our music listening area, creating a headboard out of two vintage palletes, and building a drafting table.  All of these things are great and make me excited to come home at the end of the day to see how I can help my wife make our house a home.

Keep checking out this blog and if you are in the cincy area come check out our place.  Hope to see/hear from you all soon.

till another day,

#3...

On October 16, 2009 I was given the privilege to begin a relationship with the most amazing women in the world.  If any of you truly know me, you know that I am speaking of my unforgettably beautiful fiancĂ© (soon to be wife #31012) Jennifer Schroeder of Turquoise Feathers.  Not only is she the face of this wonderful company, but she is also the brains behind this very blog you are currently reading.  Design being one of the many she is talented at, I have the privilege this year to be spending our 3rd Valentine's Day together (3 of many, many more).

Although we are not spending the actual day together, it still means just as much.  We will be celebrating this wonderful day on February 16th (our 28th month anniversary, yes I still count those) by getting matching tattoos that symbolize our soon to come marriage.

But all of that aside I would like to take some time to celebrate our life together so far by posting a couple pictures of some of my favorite memories with my beautiful Valentine.

My Favorite Engagement Picture, Christmas 2010

Summer Engagement Pictures, 2011

These are just a couple of my favorite moments in the past two and a half years of life that I have been able to share with the most precious human being in the entire world.  It is truly an honor to be associated with her and it will be even more of an honor on 3/10/12 to declare Jennifer Schroeder to be my wife Mrs. Jennifer Tod.

till another VALENTINE'S day,

The Renegade ...

Chicago, the home of the Cubs, Derrick Rose, and the Renegade Craft Fair.  Every year the Renegade craft fair comes to Wicker Park Chicago with 300+ Artists, food, music, and great products.  New to the craft show scene Jennifer (Turquoise Feathers) and I decided to head up to Chicago and stay with a  couple friends of our this past weekend, Alexz (bird trouble), James.  These were two awesome people that we actually met at the INDIEana Handicraft Exchange this past June.  After meeting at the festival in June we have been keeping in touch and thought we would spend some time with them.

The weekend was filled with great times in Wicker Park which included the fair, McDonald's, the office season 7 on DVD, estate sales, & #twitterlessjames.  A friendship that begun with a simple handshake and twitter mention has blossomed into a great partnership of promotion between BirdTrouble & Turquoise Feathers.

We have already begun planning our next trip back up to Chicago to spend another great weekend in the most hipster and vintage neighborhood with Alexz and James, we are now in the process of everyday life.  But sometimes Jennifer and I find ourselves thinking about the Chicago life wondering someday if that will be us.

I encourage you check out Alexz at birdtrouble.blogspot.com, she makes some amazing handmade clothing, bags, and accessories.  And always check out the amazing Jennifer at turquoisefeathers.blogspot.com.   Stay up to date by following me on twitter @normallyindie.
